Our field technicians/installers are dispatched to install, remove and troubleshoot Speed of Light Broadband equipment on-site for our customers. This is a contract position.

Our technical support staff primarily perform the following duties

  • Installation, service, and maintenance of RF-based fixed terrestrial wireless internet systems
  • Programming and alignment of radio equipment
  • Installation of external and internal wiring on-site
  • Deal with customers directly to determine best individual solution
  • Instruct customers on use and troubleshooting guidelines

Candidates wishing to join our Field Technician/Install staff should possess the following skills:

  • Strong critical thinking, logic, and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Understanding of home/end-user computing and networking
  • Knowledge of Cambium fixed wireless equipment a plus
  • Knowledge of construction principles a plus

Candidates withing to join our Field Technician/Install team must be comfortable working at elevated heights (on ladders, roofs, buildings, etc.) and must possess their own full-size pickup truck or van.

Our technical support staff work with customers to resolve technical issues related to their internet connection or equipment provided by Speed of Light Broadband. This is an entry-level, conditional position with the option of full-time employment (based on performance) at the end of the provisional period.

Our technical support staff primarily perform the following duties

  • Answer customer support calls
  • Resolve customer issues in an efficient and effective manner
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues involving internet connectivity, email clients, VoIP, etc.
  • Escalate or redirect problems to appropriate departments as needed
  • Stay current on pertinent hardware and software information, changes, and updates
  • Work with Field Technicians to support installation and service calls
  • Assist in the monitoring, programming, and maintenance of VoIP adapters, routers, and other relevant equipment
  • Enter data into appropriate databases accurately and efficiently

Candidates wishing to join our technical support staff should possess the following skills:

  • Strong critical thinking, logic, and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent understanding of computer operation, primarily in Windows-based platforms (Apple & Linux knowledge also a plus)
  • Solid understanding of home/end-user networking design and equipment, including router configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of Network Address Translation (NAT) and basic routing
  • Bilingual preferred
  • CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification encouraged, but not required
